K9 Advantix Protects Against Fleas, Ticks And Mosquitoes
K9 Advantix is one of the best known brands in flea and tick
protection for dogs today. In addition to affecting those
two parasites, this medicine is also able to act as a repellent
to mosquitoes that many people do not realize are capable
of biting our pets. This is a once a month topical treatment
that you will apply directly to your dog's skin. K9 Advantix
begins working to kill between 98% to 100% of fleas a dog
may have on them within 12 hours. There are a number of dosages
for different size dogs so you will want to make sure that
you verify your dog's weight so that you can choose the proper
dose for them.
This medicine is safe for use on adult dogs and puppies of
at least 7 weeks of age. It kills fleas and their larva starting
within 5 minutes of being applied and will continue to be
effective for 1 full month. The same is true for ticks and
mosquitoes, a parasite that many other medicines of this kind
do not treat against. K9 Advantix is not affected by water
and that means it will not wash off if you give your dog a
bath, if your dog goes out in the rain or if it goes swimming.
It is recommended that you apply 1 dose of K9 Advantix
each month, all year around. This is to keep fleas from being
able to trigger flea dermatitis and it also ensures that even
during the winter months in cold climates, fleas will not
be able to survive indoors to re-surge the following spring.
Since fleas can carry tapeworms, this medicine is also preventative
in that respect, as well as helping to guard against diseases
transmittable to humans like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
and Lyme disease.
